(Undated) — A pair of astronauts stranded on the International Space Station for the last nine months are finally gearing up to return to Earth. Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore rocketed up the the International Space Station last Spring for what was suppose to be an eight day visit, but were unable to return home because there were mechanical issues with the Boeing Starliner spacecraft the came up in.
On Friday, SpaceX’s Crew-10 mission lifted off to the International Space Station. The capsule containing four crewmembers docked with the station around 11 p.m. on Saturday night, nearly 30 hours after its launch from Cape Canaveral. The arrival of the new crew clears the way for astronauts Williams and Wilmore to return to earth, likely on Wednesday.
