(New York, NY) – Police are investigating after a man says he was set on fire in the middle of Times Square. The 45-year-old victim was luckily rushed to the hospital in stable condition. It happened around 4 a.m. Sunday morning by 7th Avenue and W 41st Street. He told cops he believed his attacker doused him in a flammable liquid before setting him ablaze.
NYPD officials say they believe the attacker personally knew the man. Straphangers are still suspicious – especially in the wake of December’s arson attack. In that incident, a 57-year-old woman was killed after being set on fire while sleeping on a subway train. The attacker is facing murder and arson charges. Meanwhile, in this latest incident no arrests have been made.
