(New York, NY) – TikTok’s future in the U.S is still uncertain today. There is less than a month to go till the incredibly popular app could be banned. A TikTok ban was initially set for January 19th after Congress passed a bill requiring the China-based app’s parent company ByteDance to divest or face being banished from the U.S.. The argument was that TikTok had to much access to everyday Americans information. Trump signed an executive order when he entered the White House in January pausing enforcement of the ban for 75 days.
There are a number of groups hoping to buy the popular social media app. Some of the bidders include former L.A. Dodgers owner Frank McCourt and Kevin O’Leary, among others. President Trump has said his administration is in talks with four groups about a potential TikTok sale. He told reporters aboard Air Force One recently that there could be a deal soon.
