NYC Half Marathon New Route

syndication-the-record-249

(New York, NY) — More than 27-thousand people are taking part in the New York City half marathon this weekend, with a slightly different route.

Runners will go 13-point-one miles through Manhattan and Brooklyn on the new course this year. They’ll start at the Brooklyn Museum and for the first time run across the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, instead of the Manhattan Bridge.  The New York Road Runners, which organizes the race, says it’s because of construction on South Street. The runners will then head up the FDR Drive and eventually finish in Central Park.

Thirty Olympians and Paralympians and members from New York City government agencies will participate. The first wave of runners starts at seven a.m. on Sunday, March 16th
