Feb 17, 2016; Ciudad Juarez, MEXICO; Pope Francis rides in his Popemobile in Ciudad Juarez.

(Rome, Italy) — The Vatican says Pope Francis is not doing great.  He is back using an oxygen mask to breathe today. The Holy See’s office reports the pontiff  has been alert, but doctors were forced to intervene to clear mucus out of his lungs on Monday. The 88-year-old Pope has been hospitalized in Rome since February 14th, battling double pneumonia. The Vatican said that Francis rested well overnight and that a full update on his condition would be coming soon.

Prayers for Pope Francis continue to pour in. The faithful can be seen 24 hours a day praying for the pontiff in St Peter’s Square. The Vatican says Francis has been told about the worshippers and thanks them for well their wishes.
