(New York, NY) – A chaplain with the NYPD has been arrested for allegedly trying to hire a prostitute in the Bronx. Reverend Michael Eguino was charged with patronizing prostitution and was given a desk ticket. The New York Post reports the 40-year-old priest was arrested at 11:20 a.m. Friday at a motel in Pelham Gardens. He was appointed a chaplain in 2021 and was ordained as a priest in 2015. He was serving as a pastor at St. Anselm Church in the Bronx.
Eguino claims he is innocent and said that this whole thing is a misunderstanding surrounding a troubled woman that he was attempting to help.
