(Brooklyn, NY) – One McDonald’s in Brooklyn is trying a new approach to combat crime. At the Mickey D’s on Nostrand and Flatbush – you now need to prove you are over the age of 20 if you want to get inside. Those people who are underage need to be accompanied by a parent or chaperone. Some people are loving it with one person on social media saying it is much more peaceful.

The fast food joint is located in a high-crime area that has been nicknamed “the junction”. It was the site of multiple shootings and stabbings. The manager at the McDonald’s tells the New York Post a group of teens – around 15 to 20 of them – are constantly present in the store after school hours wreaking havoc. She claims they throw ice at customers, steal food meant for Uber Eats or DoorDashers, and even smoke marijuana indoors. Just recently, the manager says a group of kids in ski masks came in and assaulted the store’s security guard. So far this year, there have been 29 calls to 911 from the location.
