9-11 Health Program Reinstated

syndication-westchester-county-journal-news-179

(Washington, DC) — The Trump administration is reversing its decision to make major cuts to the World Trade Center Health Program. The program provides medical treatment to some 132-thousand first responders and survivors of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Elon Musks’ Department of Government Efficiency recently fired 20-percent of the program’s staff and announced they’d be making funding cuts. The cuts faced harsh bipartisan backlash, and on Friday the decision was reversed. Officials say they’re reinstating research grants that had been cut, and employees who were fired will be allowed to return to their jobs.

Advocates were planning to go to Washington D.C. to talk to their representatives about the cutbacks.
