(New York, NY) – The fate of New York City Mayor Eric Adams is still up in the air following a court hearing in Manhattan. On Wednesday, Judge Dale Ho ordered Adams along with his attorneys and officials from the department of justice to testify on the latest developments in the mayor’s federal corruption case. Adams sat in an interview shortly after the hearing with Spectrum One, where he maintained his innocence.

Justice Dale Ho will make the final decision on the fate of the mayor, whether the charges shall be dismissed as per the Justice Department, or if prosecutors have to take the case to trial on April 21st. Adams was accused of being involved in a straw donor scheme and taking bribes from foreign officials in his 2021 mayoral bid. The Justice Department announced they were dropping the charges against Adams, sparking rumors that Adams was involved in a special deal with the DOJ to drop the case in exchange for his cooperation with President Trump’s immigration policies. The move to dismiss the charges resulted in a wave of resignations including federal prosecutors and four deputy mayors to the city.
