(New York, NY) – Governor Kathy Hochul is not betting against the President when it comes to congestion pricing. The two leaders are expected to continue talks when it comes to the controversial tolling program. President Donald Trump has been an adamant critic of the first in the nation tolling program that charges drivers $9 to enter Manhattan south of 60th Street. Hochul previously paused and delayed the plan for months before unpausing the program and lowering the toll from $15 to $9 in a bit of compromise with the MTA.

There are reports that Hochul is trying to arrange a meeting with President Trump to negotiate a deal to keep the toll in place. Hohcul says the plan is working and data from the transit agency proves it. Meanwhile, on the campaign trail and since his inauguration, Trump has maintained that he wants to reverse the plan saying it’s destructive to the city. The pair have reportedly already discussed the issue and have had some constructive discussions. No official meeting has been scheduled, but Hochul may take an opportunity to meet with the President next week at the national governor’s conference in Washington D.C.
