Trump Still Looking To Reverse Congestion Pricing

syndication-palm-beach-post-42

(New York, NY) – President Donald Trump is still applying pressure on New York State officials to reverse course on congestion pricing. In an interview with the New York Post, Trump says he was going to “kill” the plan with or without New York’s help. Trump is holding onto hope that Governor Kathy Hochul will come to a new deal that he claims will benefit all New Yorkers. The plan as it stands charges most drivers a $9 toll during peak hours to enter Manhattan south of 60th Street. The toll was originally $15 but Hochul put the plan on pause for months before re-introducing it with the lowered charge.

Trump says if New York wants to keep the charge then their federal funding could be at risk. Trump claims he will use the federal Department of Transportation to leverage a new deal.
