(New Orleans, LA) —- Employers can expect a lot of people to call in sick on the Monday after the Super Bowl. A new survey from the payroll firm, Paycom finds over six-million employees have requested sick days after the big game. The survey also finds that in 2024, there were 63-percent more sick day requests on the day after the Superbowl than on the average day last year.

Super Bowl 59 is this weekend. The NFC Champions Philadelphia Eagles will take on the AFC Champions Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday in New Orleans. The Chiefs are trying to become the first team ever to win three-straight Super Bowls. On the other side, the Eagles are looking to win their first Super Bowl in eight years. Kickoff from the Caesars Superdome is set for 6:30 p.m. Eastern.
