(New York, NY) — There’s questions over whether proper protocol was followed after New York City Mayor Eric Adams revealed he was placed under anesthesia last week for a series of health tests. Public Advocate Jumaane Williams says he is not happy he was not notified, because he is next in line if a situation occurs where the mayor can’t perform his duties. Mayor Adams says his office did everything required in that situation.

The mayor says he feels better after experiencing a pain in his side and undergoing a series of tests that forced him to keep a very low profile last week. Adams says the tests all came back negative. He says his doctor wants him to refocus on his health after gaining 25 pounds. Adams says he’s been eating too many pastries and will go back to cooking his own food again and having a heavy plant based diet.
