(Houston, TX) — A big scare for fliers heading to LaGuardia Airport on Sunday, when flames started shooting out of the engine of their United Airline’s flight. The plane was racing down the runway at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport. The pilot of the plane was able to stop the jet before it went airborne. Some of the fliers were evacuated from the flight on slides.
The incident took place around 8:35 a.m. There were 104 passengers and five crew members aboard the Airbus A319.
Fliers say the crew onboard remained calm as they told passengers to stay in their seats.
The scare comes after two deadly airplanes crashes in Washington D.C. and in Philadelphia last week.
