(New York, NY) – Authorities believe it could have been much worse if it was not for a brave Good Samaritan. Cops are looking for the man who tried to rape a 32-year-old woman in a Queens alleyway early Friday morning. Police say it happened around 6 a.m. – when the attacker approached a woman in East Elmhurst from behind, covered her mouth, forced her to the ground and threatened her life. A witness who declined to identify themselves, heard the woman screaming. The witness told ABC7 that she heard the victim crying out “I have kids” in Spanish. The witness, who lives nearby, even says she tried to chase after the attacker as he fled. Officials believe that the suspect could have been walking home from a late shift at a local bar or restaurant. Anyone with information is being urged to contact Crimestoppers.
