(New York, NY) — ICE agents were in New York City making arrests, as part of President Trump’s plans to send migrant here in the U.S. illegally back home. Agents cuffed an alleged MS-13 gang from El Salvador, a Honduran citizen who has a drunk driving record and a Jamaican national accused of exploiting a minor.
City Council President Adrienne Adams says she would like to get notice when ICE members make arrests and raids across the city. City Council members Vickie Paladino and Robert Holden say they are happy ICE agents have taken criminals off the streets of the big apple
Newark Mayor Ras Baraka is expected to give more details today on the raid of a Seafood business by Immigration Customs and Enforcement agents. Newark officials say they detained citizens, illegal immigrants and a U.S. military veteran without showing a warrant at Ocean Seafood Depot yesterday. Baraka calls it an “egregious violation” of the 4th amendment to the Constitution which protects against “unreasonable searches and seizures.”
ICE released a statement saying they may encounter U.S. Citizens while conducting field work and may request identification as was the case in Newark yesterday but wouldn’t comment on the specifics of the raid.
