(New York, NY) — New Yorkers will suffer together over the next few days through the coldest temps we have felt in more than two years. Everyone is layering up as the thermometer will hover in the teens through Wednesday, and wont go above freezing until Friday at the earliest.
Mayor Adams says the city is ready to help New Yorkers who don’t have heat. A Code Blue is in effect, which legally allows the city to force the homeless off the streets so they don’t freeze to death.
The MTA and New Jersey Transit say they will do their best to keep trains rolling amid the deep freeze. They have de-icing equipment at the ready to deal with frozen trains and tracks.
