(Tel Aviv, Israel) – The first hostages have been released by Hamas and are being reunited with their families at a hospital in Tel Aviv. Officials with the IDF claim the three Israeli women that were released seem to be in good health. They were released from captivity in Gaza following a ceasefire deal.
As part of the deal, Hamas will release 33 hostages in exchange for 1,900 Palestinians being held prisoner by Israel. Two Americans are among the 33 hostages expected to be released in the first phase of the deal. Around two weeks into the ceasefire, there will be negotiations to put a permanent end to fighting in the region.
