(New York, NY) — Former New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer is officially jumping into the race for mayor. Stringer says he would focus on improving subway safety, cracking down on crime, creating more affordable housing and better childcare options.
He joins a crowded Democratic race, which includes Comptroller Brad Lander, State Senator Zellnor Myrie and embattled Mayor Eric Adams.
Meanwhile, a poll out this week shows former Governor Andrew Cuomo, who is reportedly only mulling a mayoral run, with a big lead in a hypothetical race. When likely Democratic voters were asked to choose a favorite candidate, Cuomo got 32-percent support. Stringer was next at ten-percent, followed by Lander at eight percent and Adams at six-percent.
