(Washington, DC) – Ahead of Inauguration Day, a display is going up in Washington, DC that will show off presidential footwear. The shoes were all made for the leaders of the free world — 15 pairs in all — dating back to 1850. Since that time, Johnston & Murphy has made a pair of shoes for every US president.
The creations will be on display in downtown Washington DC. The display will be open to visitors daily at the Mayflower Hotel on Connecticut Avenue Northwest. Officially dubbed the Johnston & Murphy Presidential Footwear exhibit, shoes worn by the likes of Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy are included. Shoes crafted for more modern presidents such as Barack Obama, Donald Trump and Joe Biden are also part of the exhibit.
People have a chance to check it out through January 29.
