syndication-the-record-227

(New York, NY) – New York City Mayor Adams is dismissing a poll that shows former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo favored to be the next leader of the five boroughs. According to Politico, a poll from Progressives for Democracy in America shows Cuomo holds a 20-point lead over Adams.

The poll shows Cuomo getting 32 percent support when likely Democratic voters were asked to choose a favorite candidate. City Comptroller Scott Stringer was next at 10 percent and Mayor Eric Adams only got six percent support. Cuomo hasn’t even entered the race.  Adams reminded reporters how Andrew Yang at one point had a big lead before Adams beat him in the Democratic primary for mayor.

Adams has been indicted on five federal counts, including bribery charges, while former Governor Cuomo left office after facing down sexual harassment allegations.
