(Las Vegas, NV) — The ex-girlfriend of the man who died in a Tesla Cybertruck explosion in Las Vegas on New Year’s Day is speaking out. Alicia Arritt dated Matthew Livelsberger, a decorated military operations sergeant who served in the U.S. Army as a Green Beret. She tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal his 2019 deployment to Afghanistan “absolutely broke him.” ‘
Arritt also says Livelsberger suffered serious brain injuries before his deployment in 2019, but was able to cope with them. She says Livelsberger wouldn’t talk about his experiences after returning home from Afghanistan and seemed ashamed.
Detectives believe the 37-year-old shot himself to death at the same time the explosives went off in the truck, which was parked in front of the Trump International Hotel.
