(Montclair, NJ) – A school staffer has been arrested — and classes are scheduled to be held as planned tomorrow — after a security threat forced all schools to close in Montclair, New Jersey on Monday. The alleged threat first emerged Sunday on social media — prompting Montclair School District to close all locations. By late morning on Monday, Interim Superintendent Damen Cooper had announced the threat was “neutralized.”
Apparently, 45-year-old Amir Doctry is accused of making a threat against another staff members at Northeast Elementary School. He’s on leave from the district at the moment. Cops reportedly tracked him down in Philadelphia where he was placed under arrest. FBI agent assisted in the investigation.
Authorities have since hit Doctry with a series of charges. Those include allegedly making terroristic threats, with other charges pending.
