(Washington, D.C.) — President-elect Donald Trump is vowing to try and kill congestion pricing as soon as he gets sworn in next week. He met with Hudson Valley Congressman Mike Lawler and Staten Island Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis over the weekend. They are two Republicans who have been very outspoken in their criticism of the Manhattan business district tolling program that started a week ago.
It’s unclear how Trump would try and kill the program, but experts say the only way to stop it is through Congress. Meanwhile, the MTA says data from last week shows buses including ones from New Jersey are having faster morning and evening commutes since congestion pricing went into effect.
