(Los Angeles, CA) — Six separate wildfires are burning in Southern California now. 100,000 have been forced to evacuate their homes. Five are dead, and well over two thousand structures, including homes, businesses and schools have been destroyed over the last few days. Firefighters say they are not enough of them to battle all the wildfires. They say some hydrants have run dry.

The Palisades Fire alone has doubled in size since Wednesday, burning through  17-thousand acres of land and it remains uncontained. Nick Libonati is a homeowner there. He says he and his friends saved his home after hiking up to it with buckets of water.

Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone says “a high number of people who didn’t evacuate” suffered serious injuries. The fire is currently moving toward Brentwood and is causing concern in the Mandeville Canyon area.

Actor James Woods, who lost his home on Wednesday is is criticizing the Los Angeles fire chief, who he says has been more worried about diversity than land management issues and fighting fires.
