(New Orleans, LA) – Following a deadly attack on New Years, President Biden is heading down south to pay his respects to those lost in the tragedy. In the early hours of the new year, a truck drove through the crowds celebrating on Bourbon Street. A total of 14 people were killed in the chaos, including several former residents of the Tri-State area and the visiting son of Prince William’s nanny.
The FBI continues releasing information as their investigation into the incident continues. The bureau says that they found explosives and a transmitter in the truck he drove. The identity of the driver has been released, Shamsud-Din Jabbar is a US-born citizen who also served in the Army. Feds believe the suspect was planning on detonating those explosives, causing further damage. However, those plans were upended when Jabbar opened fire on the crowd and was then killed by police. The younger brother of the deceased Jabbar has made public statements claiming that he never saw any “red flags” or warning signs leading up to the event.
