(Newark, NJ) — A judge has set a three o clock hearing for this afternoon to clarify whether congestion pricing can start in Manhattan on Sunday as planned. This could be the final hearing over an attempt to try and stop the plan. A judge recently ruled he wanted more information on the tolling program from the feds and MTA as part of a New Jersey lawsuit trying to stop it but didn’t make clear in his ruling whether the tolling program should be delayed in the process.
The MTA insists the tolling program will start on Sunday as planned but New Jersey officials say there are major concerns over added congestion and pollution from the plan for northern New Jersey.
