(Gainesville, FL) — The FBI says it stopped a plot to kill employees of a pro-Israel organization in Florida on the first night of Hanukkah. They say Forrest Pemberton, who lives in Gainesville, Florida traveled to the south Florida offices of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee just before Hanukkah to “scout” the area and planned to return later with guns.
The FBI says Pemberton’s family members alerted authorities that he may be up to no good, after he went missing and they found a threatening letter he left behind.
Pemberton was arrested after he was found in a rideshare vehicle carrying weapons and ammunition.
