(New York, NY) — The life expectancy of Americans is rising again. In 2023, the average life expectancy rose to 78-point-four-years, which is nearly a year longer than in 2022. That’s according to the CDC, which has just released its mortality report for 2023.

Women still have a longer life expectancy than men, with women living on average of just over 81-years-old while men have an average life of 75-point-eight years. The top cause of death continues to be heart disease, followed by cancer, unintentional injuries, and stroke.
