(New York, NY) — A 25-year-old Brooklyn man was shot in the neck as a rode an MTA bus through Brownsville early Sunday morning. Police say the bullet that hit him was meant for someone on the street outside. Police officers raced the injured rider to Brookdale Hospital. He is in stable condition.

Detectives say the bullet flew through a passenger window around 1:20 a.m. as it rolled  near the corner of Rockaway and Hegeman Avenues. They believe the gunman was aiming for someone on the street. Police are searching through nearby surveillance cameras looking for pictures of the gunman. They have made no arrests. The gunfire comes just a week after a 55-year-old man was shot in the leg at the very same intersection.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS
