(Hollidaysburg, PA) — A Pennsylvania judge has set two court dates for Luigi Mangione. Mangione is the main suspect in the fatal shooting of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson in midtown Manhattan. He remains in custody after being arrested at a McDonalds in Altoona, PA. Mangione will appear before a judge for a preliminary hearing on December 23rd and a bail hearing on December 30th.
Meanwhile, an indictment could come soon as the Manhattan district attorney’s office has started presenting evidence to a grand jury in hopes to secure a murder indictment against Luigi Mangione. Governor Kathy Hochul says as soon as that indictment happens, she’ll sign a warrant to get Mangione extradited to New York. He’s being held in Pennsylvania now and his defense attorney says he’ll fight an extradition attempt.
Thompson was gunned down December 4th on his way to a conference in midtown Manhattan. He leaves behind a wife and two children.
