(Newark, NJ) — NJ Transit isn’t allowing beverages of any kind during SantaCon. The SantaCon event takes place Saturday, December 21st in Hoboken – and NJ Transit is prohibiting any containers, open or closed, on trains, buses or light rail on these dates. Officials say this policy will be strictly enforced. Beverages of any kind are never allowed on NJ Transit busses in any event.
The Christmas Spirit is alive and well in New York City. Kicking off the SantaCon weekend’s festivities on Saturday December 14th in New York City and , the annual SantaCon bar crawl will traditionally make its way around the city with Santas and Grinches, and maybe a few elves!
The MTA is also attempting to control the chaos by banning alcohol consumption on Metro-North Railroad and Long Island Rail Road trains for 32 hours. “Our top priority is ensuring that Metro-North and Long Island Rail Road riders can celebrate safely,” MTA Police Chief John Mueller said in a statement.
SantaCon is a charitable, non-political, nonsensical Santa Claus convention that happens once a year to fund art & spread absurdist joy.
