(New York, NY) – It was a busy holiday weekend for carjackers with reported incidents involving young children coming from two separate boroughs. Up in the Bronx, a man is facing charges for a robbery involving the kidnapping of a 7-year-old boy on Thanksgiving Day. Sakho Mohamed is facing a range of charges including car theft, kidnapping and robbery. Police say that the boy was sitting in the back, and his parents were about to put another child next to him, that’s when Mohamed hopped in the car and took off. The boy and car were found three miles away in Co-Op City. Luckily, the boy was not hurt. Apparently, he was arrested in an unrelated robbery.

The second incident happened in the South Richmond Hill area of Queens. A 4-year-old girl was in the backseat of a running car while her mother went into a laundromat. Two men hopped in the 2023 Acura with the child in tow and took off. A massive search effort was launched immediately. Over two hours later, she was found with the car abandoned in Jamaica. No charges will be filed against the mother. However, cops are still looking for those two suspects who face charges of grand larceny and kidnapping.
