(New York, NY) – Retail experts believe that this holiday season will see record-spending. Despite concerns of inflation, consumers are shelling out the big bucks but where they are doing that spending has come into focus. Many door-buster deals on Black Friday are no longer as popular as the online bargains of Cyber Monday.
Adobe Analytics predicts that Cyber Monday this year could be the biggest online shopping day in American history, with retailers expected to earn $13.2 billion in sales. That is a 6% rise over last year. Black Friday also saw more online spending, with shoppers shelling out $10.8 billion for purchases made on the web – an increase of 10% over last year. Experts believe that the brick and mortar retail chains like Macy’s and Kohl’s could see a drop in sales. That’s due to the shopping season being shorter this year with only 26 days between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
