What CAN you bring on flights this Thanksgiving?

syndication-the-daily-times-7

No Thanksgiving table is complete without a lot of great side dishes.

(New York, NY) – Wondering what foods you can and can’t bring on your flight this Thanksgiving holiday?  Jessica Mayle, regional spokesperson for the TSA says if you can spill it, spread it, smear it, pour it, or pump it – it’s forbidden. That includes cranberry sauce, gravy, juice, wine, alcohol, fruit preserves or soft spreadable cheeses.

Turkey, stuffing and other items are okay.  You can also keep your dishes cold with an ice pack, but it needs to be frozen when going through TSA.  All items must be taken out of bags first at security. Best to package it in a clear container.

Mayle  says you can bring your food through anyway you’d like. You can hold a pie in your hands, as long as it’s boxed and screened properly through the checkpoint.
