(New York, NY) – A woman is dead after jumping out from the backseat of a moving car early Saturday morning. Police say the 32-year-old victim was riding on the eastbound Long Island Expressway around 1:40 a.m. when she jumped out of the car. She leapt from the car near the Kissena Boulevard overpass and was struck by another driver.
The driver who hit her fled the scene, however the Uber driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with police. Cops are still not sure what caused her to jump out of the car. Anyone with information regarding the other driver is being asked to contact authorities.
