(Brooklyn, NY) – Four young kittens are being cared for after they were found tossed in the trash. A man walking his dog in Sunset Park heard the crying mews coming from a garbage can. That’s where he found four kittens – one male and three females – tied up inside a trash bag. He called 311 to report it and the Brooklyn Bridge Animal Welfare Coalition took the kittens into their care.
Anne Levin with the coalition spoke with NBC4 New York, urging people to be a bit more humane when dealing with any unwanted animals. New Yorkers always have the option to call 311 for help with non-emergency situations and local shelters will usually take in any animals. When the kittens grow up a bit and get all their necessary vaccinations, they will be at the Brooklyn Cat Cafe waiting to be adopted into their forever home.
