(New York, NY) — The rain we have been praying for will finally come down in buckets beginning Wednesday night and last into at least Thursday morning. 1 to 3 inches could fall. Much of the Tri-State has has been dealing with drought conditions and dangerously low water levels in area reservoirs. The rain wont end the drought, but it will help firefighters who have been battling brush and wildfires over the last month in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. In higher elevations, like the Hudson Valley, the rain could turn to snow overnight.
Lawmakers will still ask everyone to conserve water until more rain falls. In the past seven weeks, Central Park has recorded just point-19 inches of rainfall.
