(Los Angeles, CA) — Six key witnesses will reportedly be called to the stand during the Menendez Brothers’ resentencing hearing on December 11th in Los Angeles. TMZ reports attorney Mark Geragos will call six employees of the California Department of Corrections. They include two correctional officers, one education officer, a prison guard, a correctional lieutenant and another employee.  All of the witnesses have interacted with Lyle and Erik Menendez during the course of their more than 30 years in prison. The witnesses will reportedly testify that the brothers have “changed significantly”.

The brothers claim sexual and physical abuse from their father drove them to kill their parents at their Beverly Hills mansion in 1989. A resentencing could pave the way for the release of brothers Erik and Lyle, but first it has to be approved by a judge. DA George Gascon said they would be immediately eligible for parole because they were sentenced when they were under 26. He says he came to the decision after examining new evidence that backs up their abuse claim.
