(New York, NY) — Former New York City Congressman Anthony Weiner is thinking about making a political comeback with a run for an open City Council seat.  Weiner made the announcement on his Saturday afternoon radio show on 77WABC. Weiner says he is eyeing City Council Member Carlina Rivera’s seat in lower Manhattan. She cannot run again.

Weiner says he wants to set an example for his teenage son, Jordan, showing him how important public service is. The 60-year-old says he loves his radio gig, but misses being of service to others.

Weiner spent 21 months behind bars, beginning in 2017 for  sexting a 15-year-old girl. He was pushed out of office over a sexting scandal that involved several women and a minor.
