(Los Angeles, CA) – There’s any number of reasons you could lose a job. Poor performance is one. Constantly being tardy is another. Getting into a fight with co-workers never helps. But what about being fired for being a Dodgers fan? That’s a new one.
According to a man in LA, he was canned — partially for being a Dodgers fan. In a post shared to Reddit, the user said he’d called out sick in order to attend the Dodgers’ World Series parade in Downtown LA. But the man’s boss saw him on TV or social media, and fired him. In the letter of termination it was explained the man was spotted at the parade.
That said, the former employee argues the real reason for the job action was his Dodgers fanhood in the first place. Feeling the blues over getting the pink slip, the man said his ex-boss is a Yankees fan — hinting the bitter loss in the World Series led to the firing. The Reddit post has since gone viral.
