(Jackson, NJ) — Forest fires continue to burn across the tri-state. It’s so dry from the lack of rain over the last two months. On Wednesday night, city firefighters battled flames that broke out inside Brookfield Park on Staten Island. They were eventually able to knock it down. No injuries were reported.
In Jackson, New Jersey Forest Fire Service workers are trying to contain a blaze that has scorched 175 acres in Ocean County. They have told locals to leave their homes, worried the flames could spread to nearby structures. That forest fire is only around 30 percent contained.
