It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas….

(New York, NY) — This year’s Rockefeller Center Christmas tree will be cut down Thursday in a tiny town in Massachusetts. That’s a first for the Bay State but Rockefeller Center’s chief gardener and tree scout, Erik Pauze, has had his eye on it for four years. He says it’s a perfectly-shaped Norway Spruce that weighs eleven tons and stands 74 feet tall.

After it’s cut down, it’ll be hauled to New York City and decorated by elves with 50-thousand Christmas lights and five miles of electrical wire. It’ll be adorned with an 800-pound Swarovski crystal tree topper and then hoisted into place at 30 Rock for the December 4th tree-lighting ceremony seen on live TV.
