(New York – October 29, 2024) – Red Apple Real Estate led by John Catsimatidis has acquired 253 West 24th Street for $22.5 million. The existing building was built in 1920 and is currently 60,000 gross square feet. The property is situated in the heart of Chelsea between 7th and 8th Avenues and is next to Red Apple Real Estate’s other residential project; 280 8th Avenue, a 104-unit multifamily development which is scheduled for completion in the Summer of 2025. The Seller was The Jeanne D’Arc Residence based in Kentucky. Evan Layne and William Lee from Newark represented the Sellers.
The transaction was approved by the Archdiocese of New York, the Vatican and the New York State Attorney General.
