(New York, NY) – A Manhattan federal judge is striking down a request from the defense team for Sean “Diddy” Combs in his sex trafficking case. The rapper’s attorneys requested a gag order on any agencies currently involved in the investigation. His team claims that the government is leaking information to the press in order to influence the grand jury. This comes after recent reports last week from his civil lawsuits alleged that Combs laced baby oil with a date rape drug. Investigators also seized 1,000 bottles of baby oil as revealed by the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York.
The judge decided there would be no gag order, but in a forceful reminder to both sides of the case, he urged them to follow the rule of law. The trial date has been set for May 5th. Until then, he remains behind bars in Brooklyn.
