(Los Angeles, CA) — Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon says his decision on the Menendez Brothers’ case is coming by the end of the week. Lyle and Erik Menendez have been behind bars since shooting their parents to death in their Beverly Hills mansion back in 1989. Gascon’s office has been reviewing new evidence in the case, which suggests the brothers may have been sexually and physically abused by their father, Jose Menendez.
Gascon will decide whether to ask for the brothers to be resentenced. But, the final decision is ultimately up to a judge. The Menendez Brothers are currently serving life sentences without the possibility of parole.
