(New York, NY) — The New York Liberty could win their first ever WNBA championship with a victory tonight. The Liberty are up two games to one in the best of five finals series against the Minnesota Lynx.  If Minnesota wins, a deciding game five will be played on Sunday in Brooklyn.

New York City will throw a ticker tape parade for the Liberty if they win it all. They would be the first local women’s team to ever be celebrated through the Canyon of Heroes. Mayor Adams said earlier this week that Liberty will understand how happy the city is if they win the championship.

New York City hasn’t held a ticker-tape parade for a local sports team since the Giants won the Super Bowl in 2012.
