(Jerusalem, Israel) — The parents of an Israeli American hostage killed in Gaza this past summer are detailing what happened to him to in his final days. Rachel Goldberg-Polin says the body of her 23-year-old son Hersh was found “bullet ridden and emaciated” in a 60-foot-deep tunnel. He weighed just 116 pounds.
Hersh Goldberg-Polin was one of the 251 taken hostage during the Hamas surprise attack in Israel on October 7, 2023. It was late August, when his lifeless body was found with six other hostages who had been murdered as well. His parents believe Hersh was likely executed by his captors as Israel’s military closed in on the tunnel where he was being held.
The Goldberg-Polins have been making appearances on news networks in the last few days, asking world leaders to make a deal to release the 100 plus hostages still being held in Gaza.
