(Lawrenceville, NJ) — The Republican Senate candidate in New Jersey is blaming lack of food for nearly passing out during a debate Sunday at Rider University. Curtis Bashaw froze and clutched his lectern as he was answering a question during the face off with Democrat Andy Kim who went over to check on him. The debate was paused for about ten minutes while the 63-year-old had a bite of a protein bar and a drink.
Bashaw later told reporters that he had been campaigning all day and never got a bite to eat. The two candidates are looking to fill the seat vacated by Bob Menendez who resigned after being convicted of corruption charges.
