(New York, NY) – The legal troubles continue for the Adams administration. On Friday night, the chief adviser to Mayor Eric Adams was stopped by authorities before leaving the airport on her return from vacation in Japan. Ingrid Lewis-Martin has known Adams for decades, and now is also being eyed by authorities. Upon landing, the Manhattan District Attorney’s office seized her devices. Then, once she cleared customs she was stopped again – this time by authorities with the Southern District of New York – handing her a federal subpoena.

Lewis-Martin, much like Adams, is maintaining her innocence. Her attorney claims that she is not the target of any known investigations and no charges have been filed. Meanwhile Adams pleaded not guilty in court on Friday to a five-count federal indictment with charges related to bribery and corruption.
